Frequently Asked Questions

What age can a child fly alone?

Most airlines allow children ages 5-14 as unaccompanied minors. Southwest is 5-11 only. Children 15-17 can usually fly without UM service. Frontier and Allegiant don't accept UMs at all.

How much does UM service cost?

Typically $100-$150 each way, per child. This is in addition to the ticket price. Fees vary by airline — we show you the exact fee for each result.

Can I book online?

No. All UM flights must be booked by phone directly with the airline. Sites like Expedia can't process UM bookings. KidAero finds valid flights, then you call to book.

Why can't my child connect at certain airports?

Airlines only allow UM connections at their major hubs where staff can supervise. We automatically check these restrictions so you don't book an invalid route.
